New Living Room Addition

Bright Books and White Gourds Coffee Table Styling

It has been way too many years to count since we last had a coffee table in our living room, but that all changed this week. (I am definitely going to need to brush up on my coffee table styling, that's for sure!) The hubby came across this table just sitting in storage at his dad's place. It was not much to look at, but was very sturdy and had potential.

With the help of a couple of small assistants we scrubbed down the table to get rid of the dirt from storage and then lightly sanded it to give the paint something to adhere to. A couple of coats of my favorite dark gray paint later (see it here, here and here), we had a brand new coffee table in our living room. Can you tell that I am on a serious gray kick right now? It is just the perfect neutral, and this dark color just feels so relaxing and cozy to me.

I know the suspense is making you crazy, go ahead take a peek, it looks like a brand new table!

I am so happy with how it turned out, it is definitely a great addition to our space. They boys have enjoyed breaking it in with a few card games, and I can see it being a perfect spot for family game night. .

Do you have a coffee table in your living room? Do you keep it styled for the seasons, or do you have one to two go to looks?

  1. It's amazing what a coat of a just-right paint shade can do! :) Our coffee table in our living room is not styled for the seasons yet; it houses my husband's laptop right now and all of his electronic gear. It's more like our mini media console than a coffee table currently. :) Visiting from Remodelaholic.

  3. You are certainly the master of changing up your furniture with a little paint- great coffee table revamp as well!! I have a feeling that we are a bit alike in that way--- not many pieces of furniture around here have escaped my paint brush either:)
